The photo above is manipulated, and probably overdone, but hey, I was having fun. Some of the photos below have not been manipulated, except for slight cropping, to give you an idea of what can be done with a basic pocket camera and no photoshopping, in this sensationally photogenic area.

This photo was taken at Burns Beach, walking back from the slipway towards Steiglitz. Orange and blue are complementary colours on the colour wheel, plus warm colours tend to visually pop forward and cool colours appear to recede, which all helps to make beautiful scenery, and rewarding photography and painting.

  2. Dear Laya – Damn but he’s good! (Bryan). Are you an excellent photographer yourself perhaps? Takes one to know one. Maybe you have a camera sitting in a biscuit tin somewhere collecting dust? If you send me some photos that suit my web sites, I could find a place for them. Best wishes, David.

Sensational new photos! There are too many comments to put them all down here, but just for starters …
I can almost see the clouds tumbling across the sky … ‘Waves, Bay of Fires’ looks like an oil painting – how did you do that? Usually artists try to make their paintings look like photographs! …
You’ve captured rocks that mirror the waves (‘Stormy Weather, Beerbarrel Beach’) … And those pristine sand dunes – I can hear the squeaky footsteps of a lone beach walker.
Seeing the contrasts between the enhanced and original pics was interesting, too. So inspiring!
    Now, where’s that biscuit tin?
