The quotes on this page point to the fact that anthropogenic climate change is deceitfully  hyped up by the main stream media, politicians, etc. Drastic solutions that are repeatedly demanded would cause more harm than the supposed problem. Numerous possible solutions are suggested on this site, which take advantage of extra carbon dioxide in the air.

Global warming was changed to climate change (a bet every which way, which means you can’t lose, no matter what the climate or weather does) but the basic premise remains that anthropogenic carbon dioxide has a heating effect, leading to catastrophic global warming. Repeated strident warnings about catastrophic climate change if we do not reduce the use of carbon dioxide producing fossli fuels have failed to eventuate, over decades now. At the same time, opportunities for reforestation and soil improvement due to increased carbon dioxide are repeatedly ignored or down-played. The real intention seems to be to sabotage Western industrial nations. Read on…

Based on these paintings and this photo, perhaps we should be more concerned about global cooling and entering another ice age, rather than global warming. After all, that is what they were saying in the seventies. Of course I realize that it is a logical fallacy to draw a large conclusion from a small sample, but I am just enjoying indulging in a little cherry picking and making wild speculative predictions, in the manner of many climate alarmists.

Update February 2020:

Yet another dire prediction of the catastrophic consequences of anthropogenic climate change fails miserably.

The film “ICE – THE NEW ICE AGE APOCALYPSE” which came out in 2010, says the following on the back of the DVD cover:

“It is 2020. Global warming has turned the regions of Southern Europe to desert and the Arctic polar ice cap is melting rapidly. There is a refugee crisis on an unprecedented scale as populations migrate north. Energy companies are turning to increasingly dangerous methods to extract what little oil is left on Earth”.

“THE DESTRUCTIVE EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING CAUSE UNIMAGINABLE DEVASTATION AND PANIC WORLDWIDE”. (original quote in block capitals).

In 2010 it must have seemed like 2020 was a long way off and so perhaps they thought it was safe to make outlandish predictions. Now that it actually is 2020, the above predictions have turned out to be nonsense, as usual. Based on all the woefully inaccurate and exaggerated predictions made in the past, predictions of dire consequences made at present about the future, such as how we must reduce emissions and stop using fossil fuels or we will become extinct, or similar, should be laughed off, and treated with the derision and scepticism which they deserve. Instead, we could be turning extra carbon dioxide into vegetation and improved soils.

Nongqawuse and Greta Thunberg – a cautionary tale

Nongquawuse (1841 – 1898) was a teenager of the Xhosa tribe (like Nelson Mandela) who had a vision in which she believed that the ancestors told her that if everyone in the tribe killed all their livestock, (they killed between 300,000 and 400,000 cattle) and destroyed their crops, they would magically be replaced by better livestock and crops, and the tribe would return to former or greater glory. This did not happen, and tens of thousands of people died in the ensuing famine, with an estimated population of 105,000 tragically dropping to fewer than 27,000.

Interestingly, those who were sceptical and did not destroy their animals and crops were called “stingy ones”, and blamed for the failure of the prophecy. It seems that ad hominem attacks were around then as well, in the same way that climate sceptics today are often called “deniers”, deliberately tarring them with the same brush as holocaust deniers, which is a slanderous false accusation, and breaking one of the Ten Commandments.

The moral of the story is that it is unwise to base policy (such as rapidly changing from fossil fuels to renewable energy) on the pronouncements of a teenager, and all the more when it would negatively affect not only a group of about 105,000 people, but billions of people across the whole planet.

Greenpeace lies

From the Cairns Post newspaper in Australia:

“Greenpeace’s photo fail. Greenpeace has again been caught out using a deceptive image in a Great Barrier Reef scare campaign. The environmental group this week tweeted a composite image of two photographs taken just months apart showing dramatic coral bleaching. The accompanying caption read “Time to listen to nature. The Great Barrier Reef bleaching is a clear message – No more coal” and linked to media coverage of dying coral in North Queensland. But the photographs were taken thousands of kilometres across the Pacific at Flowerpot Rocks in American Samoa. The non-profit organisation says the incorrect picture was posted accidentally. But federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt and Minister for Northern Australia Matt Canavan said it was part of a pattern by Greenpeace of misleading the public. Last year the green group admitted using a photo of a coral reef in the Philippines damaged by a super typhoon to warn of perils facing the Great Barrier Reef.”

Was the photo from the Philippines also a “mistake”? It is an inconvenient truth that all these “mistakes” are always in their favour, pushing their brain washing propaganda. For example, the complete melting of Himalayan glaciers was “mistakenly” projected at about 35 years (or thereabouts), when the actual projection was about 350 years. An order of magnitude error! How did that get past the author of the paper, as well as the IPCC’s supposedly “gold-plated peer review process”? There is a 50% probability that the error could have been to add a zero instead, i.e. to say that the glaciers would melt in 3,500 years, but somehow that never seems to happen. Of course the alarming “error” goes on TV and is on the front page of newspapers all around the world, and stated as absolute fact. The populace worldwide are now alarmed. Job done!

Typically, months later, the “error” is admitted (if at all, if they are not called out), and is reported on page 57 in the newspaper, which few people read. Alternatively, there may be no admission about being wrong, nor an apology. See Al Gore’s prediction about the snows of Kilimanjaro further down this page. Personally, I think they know exactly what they are doing.

I also seem to recall them exaggerating rates of deforestation in the Amazon (about 1980), and when they were caught out and interviewed on TV they essentially said that the end justifies the means, i.e. we had to talk it up (lie) to alarm people, and get funding (apologies that I don’t have a reference for this). This is classic socialist/communist thinking…that if you want to make an omelette, you have to crack eggs. They assume that they are the elite and know best, and are happy to lie to achieve their ends. Figures are uncertain, but the communist Stalin may have murdered around 20 million people…that’s a lot of cracked eggs.

And the omelette failed.

They aren’t the elite and they don’t know best. The emperor is not wearing any clothes.

Melting Himalayan Glaciers

“Gore’s book claims that 40 percent of the globe’s population depends on the glacial meltwaters from Himalayan glaciers for their water supply. He further states that these glaciers are failing due to man-made global warming. However, this false claim reflects on Gore’s fundamental scientific misunderstanding of the nature of the Himalayan glaciers. The water supply derived from the Himalayan mountains is produced almost entirely from the melting of annual snowfall, not from the melting of the more permanent glacial ice. Since 1970 there has been no decline in the amount of snow melt in Eurasia that provides the water supply to the vast population of the subcontinent”.

Polar Bears

“Gore’s book claims that global warming is endangering the population of polar bears. He stated in An Inconvenient Truth that polar bears “have been drowning in significant numbers” due to the loss of Arctic sea ice.

The truth is that the polar bear population has risen almost 500%  from approximately 5,000 bears in the 1950s to an estimated 23,000-plus bears today. The only real threat to polar bears comes from hunting…

During the last interglacial period, when global temperatures were 5 degrees C (9 degrees F) warmer than today, polar bears survived without difficulty”.

There are now so many polar bears that they are a daily threat to people living around Hudson Bay in Canada.

Sea Levels

“His An Inconvenient Truth PowerPoint presentation illustrates with maps the projected submersion of numerous areas, including the island of Manhattan, half of Florida, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh. In light of the fact that there is no evidence of a significant rise in ocean levels from global warming, this prediction is nothing more than unfounded alarmism.

Scientists are researching ocean levels utilizing the Pacific Marine Atlas program, which gathers data from the entire network of automated ocean measuring stations. They have determined that there was a significant down-trend in global sea levels over the past six years. Their report declared…that ocean levels have actually been decreasing and not rising, contrary to global warming forecasters”.

At the time this was written (2014), there had been no significant warming for about 16 years. They must have known this. At the same time the atmospheric CO2 concentration continued to grow, strongly suggesting that anthropogenic CO2 has minimal or no impact on the global climate, and/or is over-ridden by much stronger influences. It is a very sad day indeed, when you can no longer trust National Geographic (or Greenpeace, or the CSIRO, etc.).

Unbelievable!

It must be nice to make billions of dollars out of “Big Oil”, and then when you have benefited by making billions from free world capitalism/national sovereignty/industrialized civilization/rule of law, to turn around and declare that this must be destroyed, and then play a part in destroying it, which would result in billions of people living lives of poverty-stricken misery (this from a billionaire), and the deaths of millions of human beings around the world.

Excuse me Maurice (and Dave Foreman, see quote below), but these millions of people are real – they have names, relatives, friends, and every one of them has individual finger prints. Whether you want to believe it or not, each and every one of them is made in the image of God, and you have no right to play God.

One of those individuals.

I appreciate that not everyone believes in God or Bible prophecy. Nevertheless, there is a tendency in politics and history, for power within a nation to become more and more centralised, and finally end up in the hands of one person. This is almost always disastrous, and it is not surprising if power becomes more and more centralised in a global government (already happening with the UN), and finally in one person, with the usual disastrous consequences.

“The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate, at Bergen, Norway.

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the Gulf Stream very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by morrianes of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable”.

Sounds like today’s alarmism, complete with dire predictions for the future, but this is from 1922, (2 November 1922), reporting a localised and temporary event which I think we can safely say had nothing to do with anthropogenic CO2, nor have most coastal cities become uninhabitable because of this event.
