On the fourth of November 2020 my beloved brother Bryan Clode passed away. I can’t express how much you will be missed by all who knew you, and the world is an impoverished place without you.

This photo reminds me a little of Mt Arapiles in Victoria, Australia, and the Cedarberg mountains in South Africa. The distinctive trees are an iconic aspect of the Australian Outback – Desert Oaks, Casuarina decaisneana.

Another iconic Central Australian tree, the Ghost gum was previously known by the botanical name Eucalyptus papuana, and now Corymbia aparrerinja. The Ghost gum is a very popular subject with photographers and artists of the Australian Outback.

Was this the Bryan Clode originally from SA who briefly lived in Llanbradach, S Wales?
I saw a comment below referencing Cape Town, so I guess it is.
If so please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Bryan was a friend of mine growing up.
    Steve.

    Hi Steve,

I am sorry to say that you are right – the one and only, inimitable Bryan Clode. My brother, my boetie and my buddy.

      David,
Once again my sincere condolences for your loss. The reason I initially enquired was I saw a social media clip of an iconic event… The Iranian embassy siege and it asked do you remember where you were. I was with your brother in your garage smoking cigarettes and if my memory serves me well, you came in and told us what was happening . The rest as they say is history.
Always remember it with a wry smile and he will always be in my thoughts.
      Best wishes,
      Steve.
